During the springtime my family and I took a ferry across international waters (daring, I know) from Washington to Victoria, British Columbia. We spent the weekend exploring and touring the beautiful town full of life and color. The second day we were there we took a double-decker tour bus to the extravagant Butchart Gardens, built and grown by a family from the early 1900s. It was love that built this garden and you feel it as you meander through it's peaceful grounds. I love the statue of the woman in the background with her hands folded and her eyes gazing up...I like to imagine she is praying for protection over her garden, and this is why she is 'MOTHER'. I have her in an 8x10 frame with a floral collection in a small little reading nook, purposefully tucked away for a peaceful hideaway in our home.
